Choosing the Squash Racket posted by on April 12, 2011

Choosing a squash racket can be a very difficult task even for skilled players. The weight of squash rackets is between 110 – 160 grams. Lighter weight rackets will help in generating power. Heavy racket are for players who have a fast swing speed, helping to control the ball. The balance of a racket is very personal, some people like a head heavy racket for more power, and some players like an evenly balanced racket. A closed throat racket will have a smaller string bed, decreasing the size of the sweet spot while an open one has a larger string bed. There are 3 different types of string: natural, multiple-filament and mono-filament. Grommet holes are used for strings to be threaded through. The larger holes allow the strings to have more freedom to move.
